Policies and awards

Awards

A short daily assembly is held just before school at 8:55 am. A whole school weekly assembly is held from 2:20-3 pm. each Friday. Merit awards will be handed out at this weekly assembly.

The school has a reward system called 'Win Bin'. When a student is found demonstrating appropriate behaviour they may be awarded a 'Win Bin' ticket which allows them to go in the draw to win prizes drawn at the weekly assembly.

School behaviour

Each school is required to have a behaviour code which sets out acceptable behaviours and consequences of poor behaviour. The code was reviewed in 2009. A copy of the current code can be found below.

Homework

Schools, in consultation with their communities, are required to develop a school homework policy relevant to the needs of their students.

Homework is a valuable part of schooling. It allows for practising, extending and consolidating work done in class. Homework provides training for students in planning and organising time and develops a range of skills in identifying and using information resources. Additionally, it establishes habits of study, concentration and self-discipline.
